IPv6 Connection Feature - Operating Environment

Customers currently using the supported courses can check the requirements and points to be aware of when using IPv6 Connection Feature. For details on how to connect and use devices, please refer to the user manual of each device.

Please be advised that IPv6 connection can be used only if the services or content you are accessing support IPv6. Please also note that IPv4PPPoE setting is required for internet connection using IPv4. Followings are points to be aware of when you start using IPv6 connection feature, which is a new IP standard.

Telecommunication devices (Personal computers, smartphones, etc.)

Settings for IPv6 related features are required on your devices. Please check the following web pages to see the status of your device when IPv6 connection is in use. However, no particular settings are required on most of the telecommunication devices, as they are set appropriately as a default.

Router

Use of a NTT Hikari Denwa router or a broadband router with IPV6 pass-through (IPv6 bridge) functionality is recommended. Operating environment of a Hikari Denwa router depends on whether you are using Hikari Denwa and/or wireless LAN rental service. Please select from the following to check the applicable settings on your router.

■ Customers using a NTT Hikari Denwa router (also using Hikari Denwa)

■ Customers using a NTT Hikari Denwa router (not using Hikari Denwa; using wireless LAN rental service)

■ Customers using a NTT Hikari Denwa router (not using Hikari Denwa; not using wireless LAN rental service)

■ Customers who are directly connecting a ONU/VDSL modem and computers (not using a router)

■ Customers using an off-the-shelf broadband router

How to check if you are using IPv6 connection

Please access the IPv6 Connection Status page
If you see “You are connected with IPv6” on the status page, you are currently using an IPv6 connection.

If you do not see “You are connected with IPv6” on the Connection Status page
