A better, faster internet experience with IPv6 Connection Feature

Service Overview

IPv6 Connection Feature is a standard feature which allows you to use the IPv6 Connection Feature in fiber-optic connection services.
A faster, more enhanced data communication is provided by connecting to IPv6 supported websites through IPv6 network.

What is IPv6 Connection Feature

  • Better internet experience

By sorting IPv6 supported websites to a broader IPv6 (IPoE), a faster, high capacity data communication will be possible, providing you a greater internet experience.

  • No need to change settings

If you are using a supported router, there is no need to reset the router.

    • *Request procedures and settings change related to IPv6 may be required depending on your usage environment.
  • No additional charge

IPv6 Connection Feature is provided as a standard feature of Asahi Net's fiber-optic connection services.
Initial fees and monthly charges are not required.

Examples of services supporting IPv6

To use Asahi Net's IPv6 Connection Feature, you need to have registered for NTT FLET'S v6 Option. Please note that when you use NTT FLET'S v6 Option, a fixed amount of data traffic will incur on a monthly basis, regardless of the actual amount of internet data traffic.

  • For users of FLET'S Hikari Light line, the internet data traffic will be 40 MB/month.
  • For users of FLET'S Hikari Light Plus line, the internet data traffic will be 100 MB/month.

Please note that Asahi Net's IPv6 Connection Feature cannot be used with another provider's IPv6 IPoE.
To use Asahi Net's IPv6 Connection Feature, please cancel the IPv6 IPoE that you are currently using with another provider, and proceed to register for IPv6 Connection Feature with Asahi Net following the Steps to Start Using IPv6

As part of our efforts to improve security of our Internet service, Asahi Net has implemented Outbound Port 25 Blocking (OP25B), which blocks the flow of unsolicited bulk emails (spams).
All Asahi Net users connecting to internet with IPv6 are subject to OP25B regardless of which Course you are using. For details, please refer to Outbound Port 25 Blocking page.
We ask your kind understanding on the implementation of OP25B that will lead to improved security.

If your VPN employs IPv6 return traffic within the NTT network, the routing prefix will change after you begin using Asahi Net's IPv6 Connection Feature.
As such effect can be avoided by using the Name function, we recommend using the Name function for return traffic within the NTT network. For more details on the Name function, please refer to the following pages. (Japanese)

If you are using a router that is not supplied by NTT, please read the user's manual of the router beforehand to check whether your router supports IPv6 function. Please note that IPv6 connection may not be available with some of the routers depending on its function or settings.

Please note that IPv6 connection may not function normally, if you are connecting to internet using PPPoE feature of the computer.
