Service Overview
ANSIM is a low-cost SIM service using the docomo network which can be used anywhere in Japan.
It is recommended for those who wish to reduce their data charges and/or those who have two devices (e.g., who has
a smartphone and a tablet).

ANSIM is a low-cost SIM service using the docomo network which can be used anywhere in Japan.

Bundled services gives you a maximum of 200-yen discount on your monthly charges.
Roll over your extra data for next month
Left over data will be rolled over to the next month.
Rolled over data could be used until the end of the following month without any waste.
On the other hand, if you are short of data, you can add some more.

Fixed IP address supported
With ANSIM, Fixed IP Address is available.
If you apply for the 20 Giga or 50 Giga and the Fixed IP Address, a Fixed IP Bundle Discount will be
applied, giving you a 300 yen discount on your monthly charges for fixed IP address.

- *1If the data traffic of 3 Giga Plan, 7 Giga Plan, 20 Giga Plan and 50 Giga Plan has reached the monthly limit, the speed will be 200Kbps until the end of the month.
- *2If data traffic reaches 110MB in a day, the speed will be 200Kbps for the rest of the day.
- *3The additional data traffic can only be used in the month it is purchased and cannot be carried over to the following month. It is possible to charge up to a maximum 6 times in a month. Should the additional data traffic be used up, the data speed will be restricted to 200kbps.
- *4A change of Plan takes effect on the first day of the following month. It is not possible to accept a change of Plan request at the end of every month.
- *5The actual SMS (text messaging) charge depends on the number of characters in the message being sent. Messages sent outside of Japan are tax-exempt.

- You won't be able to use your mobile phone carrier's email address (e.g. @docomo.ne.jp, @softbank.ne.jp, etc.).
- You won't be able to use "Osaifu-Keitai", "au Smart Pass" and other systems provided by mobile phone companies.

- You need to supply details of a credit card in your own name.

Have This Ready In Advance
When applying for ANSIM Voice SIM Card service, you are required to submit identity verification document in accordance with Mobile Phone Improper Use Prevention Act of Japan.

A Credit Card In Your Own Name
The credit card you supply must be a credit card in your own name.
- *You need to apply online and so need access to the Internet.
- *You won't be able to continue using the email address supplied by your current carrier, so please prepare to use a Gmail address or other email address you use often. This email address will be used for the purpose of confirming your identity.

Processing of your identity verification document
Within about 15 minutes of completing your application, you will receive an email asking for verification of your identity.
Follow the steps outlined in the email to upload your identity verification document. -

ANSIM is delivered to you
Within 3 days after your identification has been verified, the SIM card package will be sent out to the postal address registered on your identification document(s).

One final step
Log in to the Asahi Net Account Maintenance page and click the button to start using the service.
- *You may use ANSIM after about 1 hour from doing this. However, should you do this after 5pm, you will need to wait until the following day before you can use ANSIM.
- *After completing the steps to use the ANSIM service, you will no longer be able to use the SIM card of the mobile phone carrier from which you switched to ANSIM.

Precautions
Depending on the service you are applying for, you may be required to submit an identity verification document based on the laws and regulations. The following page gives you instructions on how to submit your identity verification document.
Identity verification document

- This Service is available in areas where Xi and FOMA are available. In order to use the service in Xi area, a device which supports LTE is required.
- This Service does not support international roaming.
-
- If the traffic volume of each course reaches its respective limit, the connection speed will be reduced to 200 kbps until the end of the month. The speed restriction will be unlocked, and communication speed will return to the max 262.5 Mbps on the first day at 0:00 a.m. of the following month.
- For 110 MB/Day Plan, if the traffic volume reaches the 110 MB limit of the day, the connection speed will be reduced to 200 Kbps until the next day. The speed restriction will be unlocked, and communication speed will return to the max 262.5 Mbps on the next day at 0:00 a.m.
- The communication speeds shown for this service are the maximum technically
possible, and they are not the speeds that you will actually experience when using the service. The
service is a "best effort" service and therefore actual speeds are dependent on many factors including the
communication environment, network congestion, the device in use at the time, etc.
Please note that 262.5 Mbps is available only in some Xi (crossy) areas. - "Service coverage ratio" is calculated based on the connectivity in places where municipal offices (ward/city/town/village) are located. To check for available area, please visit the NTT docomo website.

Data SIM
- This service provides SIM card dedicated to data communication.
- This service does not offer voice calls using cell phone communication networks.
- Voice calls using apps such as Skype, LINE, 050plus, Kakao, etc. are available (though some devices may not be supporting these apps).
Voice SIM
- Free calls are not available. If you make calls within Japan, 22 yen will be charged for every 30 seconds separately.
- On the month you cancel the voice call function, charges for the voice call function will be fully billed regardless of the date when the cancellation is made.
- Minors under age 18 are not eligible to sign a contract by themselves. Users between 18 and 20 are required to have a parental consent.
- In order for Asahi Net to verify your identity, you will be required to submit your identity verification document such as driver's license, passport, or health insurance certificate.
- If you wish to use MNP transfer, all the following information should be
identical.
- Subscriber information registered to mobile phone company you are currently using
- Information registered with Asahi Net
- Information indicated in your identity verification document
- Services provided by NTT docomo (such as i-mode) cannot be used with this service. @docomo.ne.jp address will not be provided.
- Before making your application, please check there are more than 10 days before the expiry date of MNP reservation number. If you have less than 10 days before the expiry date, application cannot be made with MNP transfer.
- In order to use the service, the Voice SIM should be activated. If the line activation request is not made by the day before the expiry date of MNP reservation, line activation will be performed automatically.
- If you are not able to complete the switching of mobile carriers by the expiry date of the MNP reservation number, it should be obtained again.
- With MNP transfer, information other than the phone number (such as cell phone email address) which are issued by another carrier cannot be kept.
- Your contract with the previous carrier will be terminated when your Voice SIM is activated. Also, please be aware that penalty charges, etc. due to the transfer may incur.
- Please note that if your membership is terminated by force due to missed payment of usage charges, etc., the phone number in use will be lost.
- Names of products, companies, etc. are trade names, trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective companies.

- Withdrawal of application cannot be made after applying for the service.
- To ensure fair service provision, we may not accept multiple applications made by a same customer or an identical address, etc. within a certain period.
- Application cannot be made if you reside outside of Japan.
- If you are applying for Voice SIM, you will be required to verify your identification based on the Mobile Phone Improper Use Prevention Act of Japan.
- In addition to your monthly charge, Universal Service charge and Telephone Relay Service charge are applied separately for each telephone number.
- If you change plans from 128 K Plan to another plan, or changing from other plan to 128 K Plan, a handling charge of 3,300 yen will be billed.
- Billing of call charges and SMS usage charges will start next-next month of the month you have used the service.

- The new plan will be applied starting the first day of the following month.
- Plan or SIM card function could be changed only once a month.
- Plan change requests made by 6:00 p.m. of the last day of each month will be subject to process.
- Except for 128 K Plan, plan change to 3 Giga, 7 Giga, 20 Giga, 50 Giga Plan and 110 MB/Day Plan do not require a handling charge.
- When the function of SIM card has been changed, the previous card will be deactivated when a new SIM session was confirmed or 10 days after the shipment of the new SIM card.

- The Service provides one SIM card for each contract.
- Do not take the SIM card outside of Japan.
- SIM card size could be changed (Standard SIM/microSIM/nanoSIM). A handling charge of 3,300 yen is required to change each SIM card.

- In order to use this service, please prepare the following: a
smartphone/tablet device which supports NTT docomo's Xi and/or FOMA; a Wi-Fi router; OR a SIM-free
smartphone/tablet; a communication device such as Wi-Fi router. Please check the Devices Checked page for
supported communication devices.
- *Xi (crossy) and FOMA are registered trademarks of NTT docomo, INC.
- Depending on NTT docomo-specific service or device, some applications may not be available.
- Devices sold by NTT docomo do not need to follow the procedure to unlock SIM.
- au, Softbank, and BlackBerry devices are not supported.
- Tethering availability depends on device specification.
- A communication device compatible with the technical standard is required.
- In order to use this service, please prepare the following: a
smartphone/tablet device which supports NTT docomo's Xi and/or FOMA; a Wi-Fi router; OR a SIM-free
smartphone/tablet; a communication device such as Wi-Fi router. Please check the Devices Checked page for
supported communication devices.

- If you receive a faulty SIM card, please inquire the Asahi Net English Customer Support. We will replace it with a new SIM card for free.
- If you wish to change the SIM card size, an exchange handling charge of 3,300 yen is required.
- If you wish your SIM card to be reissued due to loss or damage, a reissue handling charge of 3,300 yen is required. In such case, there is no reduction of charges for reissue or replacement of SIM card.
- If you change your SIM card, the leftover data and rolled over data before the change cannot be carried over.

- Acceptance of cancellation request of the Service during the current month is until the 15th day of the same month.
- For Voice SIM, the cancellation date of the Service is when the process for switching to another carrier is completed.
- If you cancel the Service, a full monthly charge will be billed for the month you cancel the Service. Please note that if cancellation is made during the service opening month, registration fee of 3,300 yen and a full monthly charge will be billed.
- When you make a cancellation of the Service, please return the SIM card to the designated address.
