Keep the same fixed IP address when changing your subscription service

This section gives you information on how to keep same fixed IP address when changing your service contract, and how to keep the assigned IP address.

Fixed IP Address is an optional service which you can add to the applicable connection service. Please check for an applicable service when you wish to change your subscription service.

Change the course of applicable connection service

To continue using the Fixed IP Address Option

If you are changing to a different fiber-optic line course, you can continue to use the Fixed IP Address Option.
If you wish to change to a course not shown in the above list, please apply for the Fixed IP Address Option together with the course you wish to change to.
If you are changing your subscription course but the use of the Fixed IP Address Option continues, or if you are changing to a service which does not support fixed IP address and the Fixed IP Address Option gets canceled automatically, you will be informed through an email.

To keep the same IP address

If you are changing your subscription course within the same fiber-optic line service, the IP address will not be changed.
If you are changing to a course not listed in the above, the IP address will be changed. See the following page for how to check your newly assigned fixed IP.

Change the details of applicable connection service

You can continue using the Fixed IP Address Option even when you change the details of your connection service (such as plan change).
The same IP address will be kept.

Change the place where the internet is used

If the applicable connection course is a fiber-optic service, the IP address may be changed due to change in the address where the internet is used.

The assigned fixed IP address is classified in the next three groups based on the prefectures according to NTT area IP network*. IP address is assigned by each group. If you move to an area with a different group (1. NTT West, 2. NTT East, 3. NTT East (Tokyo)), the fixed IP address will be changed.

  • *NTT area IP network is a network built by NTT East/West, by the unit of prefecture. Therefore, the NTT area IP network prefecture and the prefecture of your address may not be identical depending on the area.

Fixed IP address may change even if you are moving within the NTT East area.

Cancellation

This section gives you information on how to cancel the Fixed IP Address Option.

  • Usage charge will be fully billed for the month of cancellation.
  • If the service opening month and the cancellation month is the same, usage charge will be fully billed.
  • After cancelling the Fixed IP Address Option, your internet connection settings have to be changed.

How to check the assigned fixed IP address

This section gives you information on how to check the assigned fixed IP address.

Check the details in an email sent by Asahi Net

After you connect to the internet with the settings of your fixed IP address, an email which informs you the assigned fixed IP address will be sent by Asahi Net in about 30-60 minutes.

  • *Click the Start button to see the address information under IPv4 Connection.
  • *Please check at the place where you are connected to the internet with the fixed IP address.
Check the WAN IP address of the router connected with the fixed IP address
