Precautions

This is a service provided by NTT DOCOMO INC. with Asahi Net, Inc. acting as its sales representative and billing representative.

In order to use the Service, you need to subscribe to NTT East/West's fiber-optic line.
A supported tuner is required to watch the terrestrial digital/BS digital broadcasts. For information on Hikari TV supported tuner or TV/PC with a tuner function, please refer to the following page.
Supported Tuner (only in Japanese)

  • *Hikari TV is not available with FLET'S Hikari Light.
  • *Depending on your area or conditions, Hikari TV may not be available. For available area and conditions, please refer to the following page.
    Terrestrial digital/BS digital/BS 4K digital broadcasts (only in Japanese)
  • *Hikari TV may not operate properly in an environment where a PNA device is being used.
  • *Fire TV Stick is not supported and therefore it is unavailable.

You can start watching the Video Service as soon as you are done with the initial settings.
To watch the Channel Service, however, it will take a little more time as follows.

  • To watch terrestrial digital broadcasts/BS digital broadcasts/BS4K digital broadcasts (hereinafter referred to as "Terrestrial/BS/BS4K Digital Broadcasts") a supported tuner (*1) is required.
  • When compared to standard Terrestrial/BS/BS4K Digital Broadcasts, there is a slight broadcast delay and it takes a little time to change between channels.
  • When compared to standard Terrestrial/BS/BS4K Digital Broadcasts, there may be a slight difference in the time required to display data on the screen sent through datacasting. Furthermore, there are cases where services of standard Terrestrial/BS Digital Broadcasts cannot be received, such as in audience participation shows that use bidirectional data broadcast services, being unable to send ballot results, show the accurate ballot results, and participate in lotteries or receive prizes, etc.
  • When compared to standard Terrestrial/BS/BS4K Digital Broadcasts, there is a difference in image quality and deterioration of image quality may occur. High definition (HD) images (Hi-Vision) are available only when viewed with a HD capable television. It is not possible to view in HD images if you are viewing with a standard definition (SD) quality television.
  • Terrestrial digital broadcasts for mobile phones and mobile devices (one-segment broadcasts) and independent datacasting of BS digital broadcasts are not included in the retransmission service of Terrestrial/BS Digital Broadcasts.
  • For various reasons, Terrestrial/BS/BS4K Digital Broadcasts on Hikari TV may be ended. In such case, those customers who wish to continue viewing Terrestrial/BS/BS4K Digital Broadcasts will need to provide at their own cost a television capable of showing Terrestrial/BS/BS4K Digital Broadcasts, as well as an antenna, etc.
  • NHK Receiving Fees (subscription fees) are not included in Hikari TV charges. You are required subscribe to NHK.

Notes on IP retransmission service of terrestrial digital broadcasts provided by Hikari TV

  • Depending on the area you live, there may be differences in the lineup of channels that can be viewed through a direct antenna connection and the channels available through this service.
  • The retransmission service can be viewed in the available areas of the retransmission service (*2), and use of an NTT East/NTT West FLET'S Hikari Next (*3) line is required to view the service.
  • Maximum two channels of terrestrial digital broadcasts can be viewed simultaneously with a single NTT fiber-optic line. In order to view the second channel with another TV or to record the program of the second channel with a recorder, you are required to apply for another subscription.
