Usage precautions
The following are the precautions for fixed IP address assigned for standard services and the Fixed IP Address Option (paid service).
- One global IP address is provided for one connection ID which is assigned with a fixed IP address.
- Reverse lookup of the provided IP address: The automatically generated hostname "asahi-net.or.jp" is registered to Asahi Net's DNS server. Reverse lookup of an arbitrary name is unavailable in Asahi Net.
- Forward lookup of the provided IP address is unavailable in Asahi Net.
- If your assigned global IP address is changed due to Asahi Net's preferences, you will be informed more than two weeks prior to the change.
- If any prohibited behavior was found through a fixed IP address, communication through the applicable IP address may be suspended without prior notice.
- Asahi Net cannot give you support on server installations. Also please be aware that Asahi Net shall not bear any responsibility for the troubles caused by the installed server.
- Asahi Net does not perform access control in response to our customers' requests for the internet connection using the Fixed IP Address Option. If you wish to perform access control through the IP layer filter, we kindly ask you to do so in your device/equipment.
- If a fixed IP address has not been used for a long period of time (about three months), the fixed IP address may be released. In such a case, a new fixed IP address will be assigned when you connect again.
- If you change your basic connection course, you cannot continue to subscribe to the Fixed IP Address Option. After you check your connection with the new basic connection course, please apply again for the Fixed IP Address Option. In this case, a global IP address which is different from the one before will be assigned as your fixed IP address.
- Asahi Net is blocking IP53 (Inbound Port 53). See the following for more details.
