Notice on Closing of Asahi Mobile WiMAX Service and Information on Upgrade to Asahi Net WiMAX 2+

This notice is for Asahi Net members currently using Asahi Mobile WiMAX service.
UQ Communication Inc., which is the supplier of Asahi Mobile WiMAX service, has announced that it will close its WiMAX service as of March 31, 2020. Accordingly, we will be closing Asahi Mobile WiMAX service.
We appreciate those members who have been using the service.
After closing of the service, WiMAX devices and WiMAX services featured on some of the WiMAX 2+ devices will not be available for use.
For those members currently using Asahi Mobile WiMAX service, we recommend upgrading to the succeeding service of Asahi Net WiMAX 2+. We would like to ask those members to consider applying for Asahi Net WiMAX 2+.

1. Closing Services
All plans of Asahi Mobile WiMAX service
- Asahi Mobile WiMAX Fixed Plan
- Asahi Mobile WiMAX Two-tier Plan
- Asahi Mobile WiMAX Fixed Plan (with Fixed IP Address Option)
- Asahi Mobile WiMAX Two-tier Plan (with Fixed IP Address Option)
2. Service Closing Date
March 31, 2020
- *[Important Notice] Regarding cancellation charge
Please note that a cancellation charge will be billed for a cancellation of Asahi Mobile WiMAX service during the period other than the contract renewal period, or that is not associated with the upgrading from Asahi Mobile WiMAX to Asahi Net WiMAX 2+ service.
3. Upgrade to Asahi Net WiMAX 2+ Service
(1) Effective Period
From October 1, 2018 to March 10, 2020
- *It will take few days after the receipt of application until the delivery of device by post.
(2) Applicable Members
Members subscribing one of the following services/plans, regardless of the subscription period.
- Asahi Mobile WiMAX Fixed Plan
- Asahi Mobile WiMAX Two-tier Plan
- Asahi Mobile WiMAX Fixed Plan (with Fixed IP Address Option)
- Asahi Mobile WiMAX Two-tier Plan (with Fixed IP Address Option)
(3) How to Apply
For upgrade to Asahi Net WiMAX 2+, please refer to and apply from the dedicated webpage below.
