Please change your email settings in accordance with the end of support for some authentication methods

Thank you for using Asahi Net.

In order to provide a more user-friendly, safer service, the Asahi Net Mail Service will be transferred to a new system on August 10, 2022.
Some environments require a settings change. If you are having problems with the Mail Service, please check again the following details.

A notification email has been sent before to members who are affected by this matter.

Sending email with POP before SMTP February 28, 2022
Sending email with DIGEST-MD5 June 30, 2022
Sending email with SMTP encryption (SSL/TLS) TLS 1.0 and 1.1 July 31, 2022
Receiving email with POP encryption (SSL/TLS) TLS 1.0 and 1.1 July 31, 2022
Sending email with mail server IP address authentication August 9, 2022
Receiving email through Port 110 September 13, 2022
Receiving email with APOP TBA

2. What you have to do

If you are suddenly having problems with the Mail Service, this matter may be affecting the use. Please check the following.

1. Update your mailer (or email client, email software, etc.)

If you are using an OS or a mailer which is no longer supported by the manufacturer, please update it to the latest version.

Windows XP and older, Windows 7, Windows 8
Outlook 2010 and older, Outlook Express
All versions of Windows Live Mail
Mac Mail 10.11 and older

Asahi Net cannot give guidance on how to set up an OS or a mailer which is no longer supported.

2. Check your mailer settings

Please change your mailer settings as shown in the following settings guide.
You can see how to change the settings in Confirm Settings of the applicable mailer.

Please note that Port 110 will be closed as of September 13, 2022.
Set the port number of incoming mail server to: 995

3. Change your password

If you are still having problems even though you already updated your mailer and changed the settings, a password change is needed.

  • *After you change your password, please update the password of your connection device (router, etc.) and mailer immediately.

Members who received an email from Asahi Net with the following subject are required to change their password.

  • [Asahi Net] Renewal of Asahi Net Mail System: Please change your password

If you wish to check or send your email as soon as possible, please use the Asahi Net Web Mail. You can log in and use the service with the ID and password of your mailer.

  • *For specification and security reasons, please update your web browser to the latest version.
