Web Mail

In accordance with the renewal of our mail system, Web Mail will be renewed too.

Starting August 10, you can send and receive email through our new Web Mail.

Incoming mail up to August 9, 2022, can be viewed until February 5, 2023.

Neo-SpamBlock

Neo-SpamBlock will be replaced with a new service, Spam Filtering Service.
With this replacement, the following will be changed.

  • The service should be subscribed for each email address.
  • Acceptance/Block setting shall be made on the Web Mail.
To members who are currently using Neo-SpamBlock:
  • If you are currently using the Neo-SpamBlock, it will be switched automatically to the new service, Spam Filtering Service. The service is offered for free.
  • After switching to the Spam Filtering Service, you are required to set up the service.

We will inform you of the details and how to set the service separately.

3. Matters to be Checked in Your Environment

As part of the renewal of the mail system, some of the authentication methods will be abolished to enhance security.
In the new mail system, you may be required to change some settings, so please check the following ahead of time.

Settings of Your Mailer (Email Client/Software)

Please check by the end of June, 2022:
  • If SMTP is set to use only DIGEST-MD5, please change your settings to either: 1) auto-settings; or 2) use other methods (CRAM-MD5, LOGIN, PLAIN).
DIGEST-MD5 will no longer be supported after June 30, 2022.
  • If you are using a mailer or mail app supported by vendors (including Windows 10 Mail app, Outlook), the settings will be automatically completed and therefore you do not need to change any settings.
Please check by the end of July, 2022:
  • Please set SSL/TLS on the incoming mail server.
  • Asahi Net recommends the use of SSL/TLS for outgoing mail server settings. We are planning to require the use of SSL/TLS for outgoing mail servers in the future.
Please check by the end of August, 2022:
  • Set the port number of incoming mail server to: 995
Port 11 will be closed as of September 13, 2022.

Depending on the content of settings, you may not be able to send or receive email using our new mail services. Please change your mailer settings in accordance with our Settings Guide.
