Impact on Asahi Net Services in relation to the closure of NTT West FLET'S Hikari Premium

As previously notified, NTT West has announced to close the FLET'S Hikari Premium service as of January 31, 2019.

Notices regarding the service closure have been announced twice previously including a reminder. As the service closure date is approaching, we are posting this notice once again to provide information to those members using NTT West FLET'S Hikari Premium service regarding the impact on Asahi Net services in relation to the service closure.

1. Service that will be closed

The service that will be closed is shown in the chart below.
Those applicable members will be notified by NTT West regarding the service closing date and the successive access service (line) of FLET'S Hikari Next. For details, please refer to the NTT West website.

2. Impact on Asahi Net services after the service closing and
guidance on procedures

The following guidance is for those members who have changed their access service (line) with NTT West from FLET'S Hikari Premium to FLET'S Hikari Next.

Members are possible to continue using Asahi Net services even after they have changed their NTT West access service (line) to the successive access service (line) of FLET'S Hikari Next in association with the service closing of NTT West FLET'S Hikari Premium.

Please find below details on procedures to be taken, if any, on the use of Asahi Net connection services accordingly to your choice, after the closing of NTT West FLET'S premium service.

Please select from the following options.

(1) Wish to use successive Asahi Net connection service of FLET'S Hikari Next.

(2) Wish to cancel Asahi Net connection service.

Please note that termination or cancellation of NTT West's access service (line) will not automatically cancel your subscription of Asahi Net's internet provider service. Your subscription of internet connection services with Asahi Net will be continued unless you request for a cancellation of service to Asahi Net.

[A] Use successive Asahi Net connection service without changing
the line type

[Applicable members]
  • Those members who have changed their access service (line) with NTT West from FLET'S Hikari Premium to FLET'S Hikari Next.
a. Subscription of Asahi Net connection service

There is no need to change subscription of Asahi Net connection service.
You can continue to use the current internet connection service as is.

b. Monthly charges

There will be no change to the monthly charges.
You can continue to use the service with the same monthly charges.

c. Fixed IP Address Option service

This is applicable to those members currently using the paid optional service of Fixed IP Address Option.
You will be assigned the same IP address you are currently using, and no action is required at your side.

  • For those members subscribing Asahi Net FTTH with FLET'S service and have changed NTT Hikari line type are not required to take any action with Asahi Net. You can continue to use the service and Fixed IP Address Option as is, with the same monthly charges.

[B] Use successive Asahi Net connection service and change the line type

[Applicable members]
  • Those members who have changed their access service (line) with NTT West from FLET'S Hikari Premium to FLET'S Hikari Next.
  • Those members who have changed the line type (Family/Mansion) with NTT West, in addition to the above change.
a. Subscription of Asahi Net connection service

For those members who have changed their NTT line type, as shown in the chart below, are required to change their subscription of Asahi Net internet connection course.
This is because Asahi Net's internet connection course is required to be changed to that corresponding to the NTT line type after it has been changed.

b. Details on monthly charges and service/course

There are two connection courses available at Asahi Net. Please refer to the following webpages on details on monthly charges, etc. of each course.

You can confirm the service/course you are currently subscribing in the Services User Page.

c. Fixed IP Address Option service

Those members currently using the paid optional service of Fixed IP Address Option are required to make new application for the Fixed IP Address Option service.
The current IP address you are using will not change. The same IP address will be assigned.

[C] Cancel Asahi Net connection service

Those members who wish to cancel Asahi Net connection service they are currently using, in association with the service closing of NTT West FLET'S Hikari Premium line, are kindly requested to apply for cancellation of the connection service to Asahi Net.
