Switching from IP-Phone-F Service and Configuration

As announced in the [Reminder] Closure of the IP-Phone-F and IP-TV-Phone-F service on February 6, 2018, IP-Phone-F services will be ended on March 31, 2018. Accordingly, phone numbers currently used with these services can no longer be used from April 1, 2018 and onwards.

Members, who wish to continue to use the IP-Phone service, are recommended to switch to either the IP-Phone-C service or the Hikari Denwa service. Please refer to the followings on steps to switch from the IP-Phone-F service and configuration.

Switching to IP-Phone-C service and Configuration

Upon application

  • You will be able to continue using the VoIP equipment you are currently using for IP-Phone-F service.
  • To use the current VoIP equipment with IP-Phone-C service, you need to reconfigure the equipment.
  • The 050 IP-Phone number you are currently using for IP-Phone-F service can no longer be used. When you apply for IP-Phone-C service, a new phone number will be assigned.
  • With IP-Phone-C service, you cannot select your choice of phone number. You can check the newly assigned phone number along with the information required for configuration on the Services User Page.

Steps from application to configuration

1. Apply for IP-Phone-C service.

Please apply for IP-Phone-C service in the following webpage . (IP-Phone-F service will be cancelled automatically effective of March 31, 2018.)
Please note that application can be made only when you are connected via Asahi Net’s internet services. Application cannot be made when you are connected via other ISP’s services.

  • Please have your Asahi Net ID and password ready when applying.
2. An email is sent notifying the receipt of application.

When you complete the application, an email will be sent to your designated email address.

  • This email is sent to confirm that your application has been accepted.
3. An email is sent notifying your application has been processed.

In about ten minutes after your application, you will receive an email notifying that your application has been processed.
You will be able to confirm the phone number, and to configure your VoIP equipment.

4. Configure VoIP equipment
  • Settings for IP-Phone-C service can be configured either manually or automatically.
  • If done manually, settings can be configured right after your application has been processed.
  • Automatic configuration is only available with VoIP equipment provided from NTT.
    URL address for automatic configuration will be issued in about two business days after application.
    If you wish to use the IP-Phone service immediately, please configure manually.

Switching to Hikari Denwa Service and Configuration

Upon application

  • Hikari Denwa service is available for users of NTT FLET’S Hikari services.
  • Application for Hikari Denwa service can be made with NTT East or NTT West.
  • To start using the service, installation charges are separately required.

Steps from application to configuration

1. Apply for Hikari Denwa service.

Apply to either NTT East or NTT West.
For precautions to use the service, please confirm with the contact point at NTT for the application of Hikari Denwa service.

2. Confirmation on details of application.

NTT will call you to confirm the details of your application.

3. Hikari Denwa compatible equipment is sent to you.

Depending on the equipment you are currently using, additional equipment will be sent to you.

4. Configure Hikari Denwa equipment.

Connect the Hikari Denwa compatible equipment, and you will be able to start using the Hikari Denwa service.

Depending on the equipment, you are required to configure internet connection settings.
