[Reminder] Closure of the IP-Phone-F and IP-TV-Phone-F service

Thank you for using Asahi Net.

Since we launched the IP-Phone-F and IP-TV-Phone-F services in March 2003 there have been changes in the IP-Phone market leading to a decrease in the number of users, etc. As a result, NTT-ME Corporation, the company providing the VoIP platform for the IP-Phone-F service has decided to stop offering the 050 IP-Phone Service and they will close it effective March 31, 2018.

We sincerely appreciate those customers who have used the service until now and we look forward to continuing to provide the Asahi Net service to you.

1. Applicable services

  • IP-Phone-F
  • IP-TV-Phone-F

2. Date on which the services will close

March 31, 2018

* For those customers using the applicable IP-phone services; the services can be used until the above date but cannot be used after the above indicated date.

3. Services recommended following the closure of the applicable services

(1) IP-Phone-C

This is a 050 IP-Phone service provided on the VoIP platform of NTT Communications Corporation.
It is possible to apply for this service on the Asahi Net Web page or by contacting our English Customer Support desk.

English Customer Support (10am to 5pm, weekdays)

  • 0120-577-135 (for calls from a fixed NTT telephone line)
  • 03-6631-0861 (for calls from a mobile phone, IP-Phone, etc.)

(2) Hikari Denwa

Hikari Denwa is an IP-Phone service offered by NTT East and NTT West for users of their FLET’S Hikari fiber-optic services and the AsahiNet Hikari service.
Even if using the AsahiNet Hikari service, applications for the service will be taken by NTT East and NTT West. To contact NTT East in English please call 0120-565-950 (9am to 5pm, weekdays). To contact NTT West in English, please call 0120-064337 (9am to 5pm, weekdays).

【Important】

In addition, the Hikari Denwa service does have video functionality that can be used, however a special-purpose terminal is required; for more information, please confirm with NTT East or NTT West when making an application.

Furthermore, your IP-Phone telephone number will change should you change to one of the above services. Your understanding is appreciated.
