Web Caster 3000MV ADSL modem configuration.

I. Before making the configuration, ensure that...

1. You have entered into a FLET'S ADSL or FLET'S ADSL Entry contract with NTT and have received their Web Caster 3000MV.

2.You are prepared for connection.

On the day NTT open their service, connect up all equipment provided as instructed by NTT.

(*1) For a Type 2 line, a splitter will not be used.


II. Configuration.


Step 1: Open the setup page

Open a Web browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape, for example).

Enter http://192.168.1.1 in the address box of the Web browser, then hit the Enter key on your keyboard.

Step 2: Log-in

A log-in window will appear.

Enter user in lower case characters in both the Yuuzaamei (U) (User name) and Pasuwaado (P) (Password) boxes.

Click the OK button.

Step 3: Enter settings

In the left-hand side Web Caster 3000MV menu, click the kihon settei (basic settings) link.

In the kihon settei (basic settings) screen, enter the following settings:

a. Dousa moudo (operation mode) :
Choose NAT Ruuta (NAT router).
b. Setsuzoku uuzaamei (connection user name) :
Enter your Asahi Net User ID@atson.net
* Enter your User name in lower case (small) characters
E.g. ab4t-ash@atson.net.
c. Setsuzoku pasuwaado (connection password) :
Enter your Asahi Net password
* Enter your Password in lower case (small) characters
d. Setsuzoku pasuwaado no kakuninn nyuuryoku (confirm your connection password) :
Enter your Asahi Net password one more time
e. ADSL gawa IP adoresu/nettomasuku (IP address on ADSL side):
Click the radio button for PPP ni yori shutoku (from PPP)
f. Shiyou suru denwaki (your telephone set):
If using a telephone with number display functionality,
   choose nannbaa deisupurei kinou ari (has number display)
If using a telephone without number display functionality,
   choose nannbaa deisupurei kinou nashi (no number display)
g. Hashinsha bango tzuuchi: (Display of caller's number):
If you want to display your 050 number,
   choose Tsuuchi suru (display)
If you don't want to display your 050 number,
   choose Tsuuchi shinai (do not display)
h. Kanyuu denwa no kyacchihon keiyaku: (Call waiting/catch phone contract):
If you don't use a catch phone service, leave this as Keiyaku nashi
If you are using a catch phone service, choose Keiyaku ari
i. Denwa kaisen daiyaru shubetsu: (Type of telephone line):
Select according to the classification of your telephone line.
j. DNS saaba adoresu (puraimari): (Primary DNS server address):
Leave this box empty
DNS saaba adoresu (sekandari): (Secondary DNS server address):
Leave this box empty

If after making the Internet connection you find problems accessing Web pages, you may want to try entering the following DNS numbers:
Primary DNS Number: 202.224.32.1
Secondary DNS Number: 202.224.32.2

Click the Settei (set) button.

Step 4: Restart

The following screen will appear. Click the Saikidou gamen he (to the restart screen) link.

The following screen will appear. Click the Saikidou (restart) button.


Step 5: Check the connection

Your ADSL modem will take several seconds to start up. When the Alarm lamp goes out, the restart process is complete.

Click the Saihyouji (re-display) button.

In the left-hand side Hyouji section, click the Kiki joutai-log (status log of equipment) link - identified as 5a below.

The Kiki joutai-log (status log of equipment) page will appear.

In the PPPoE no joutai (PPPoE status) section, if you see Kakuritsu (established) displayed - identified as 5b below - the connection to FLET'S ADSL has been established.

Step 6: Confirm the status of the Web Caster 3000MV

Finally, take a look at status of the lamps on the Web Caster 3000MV.

The Dengen (power) lamp should be green.
The ADSL lamp should be green.
The PPP lamp should be green.
The LAN lamp should be green.

You should now be able to view Web pages, send and receive email, etc.
If you can't, and if the status of the lamps are different to what is shown, please go through the configuration of the Web Caster 3000MV again.
