Windows 8 PPPoE Setup

This page gives you information on how to set up the connection, and precautions for either of the following connection courses.

  • Asahi Net docomo Hikari 1 Gbps
  • Asahi Net FTTH with FLET'S
  • FLET'S Hikari Next
  • FLET'S Hikari Light

This page gives you information on how to set up the connection for Windows 8 when you are using FLET’S Hikari Next/FLET’S Hikari Light/B FLET’S/FLET’S ADSL.

Before setting up

You can connect to the internet with FLET’S lines using the PPPoE function in Windows 8.
In order to connect with FLET’S line, the line has to be installed, and you have to subscribe to the respective course (course change, new application).

Set up a broadband connection (PPPoE)

  1. STEP1

    Windows desktop

    Bring the cursor to the upper-right corner (or lower-right corner) of the Windows desktop to show the Windows 8 toolbar, also known as "Charm Bar" and select Settings.

    • *You can also press the Windows Key-C, or swipe from the right end of the screen if you are using touchscreen.

    Select Set up a new connection or network.

    Select Connect to the Internet and click Next.

    Select the Broadband (PPPoE) option.

    Connect to the Internet

    Type the information from your Internet service provider

    User Name Asahi Net ID@atson.net
    Example: ab4t-ash@atson.net
    Password Password which corresponds to the above Asahi Net ID. (lowercase letters, numbers and symbols)
    Connection name Any name
    Example: ASAHI net

    When you enter the above information, click Connect.

  7. STEP7

    Connect to the Internet

    Connection should be established between your computer and the internet.

    Connection is established when a message “You are connected to the Internet” is shown. Click Close to close the wizard.

Disconnect

Click the Connection icon in the Taskbar.

Select the connection you wish to disconnect (e.g., ASAHI net) from the list of connections shown and click Disconnect.
