Universal Service System is a system set up in accordance with Article 110 of Telecommunication Business Act that stipulates telecommunication carriers such as fixed telephone, mobile phone, PHS and IP phone carriers including NTT East and NTT West, which benefit from connecting to equipment providing universal services, to bear in appropriate shares, part of the costs required to ensure provision of subscribed telephone, public telephone and emergency calls (110, 118 and 119) (collectively referred to as Universal Services.)
In association with the enforcement of Universal Service System, Universal Service Charge is billed to members using the services to which the system applies, starting from February 2007.

* For those members using Asahi Net WiMAX 2+ and Asahi Net LTE (ANSIM), a monthly Universal Service Charge is billed as listed in the chart below on per contract basis.
