Telephone Relay Service is a service which enables users with hearing or speech disabilities to communicate with others over telephone through an interpreter who interprets sign language or text.
With the Act on Facilitating the Use of Telephones by the Hearing Impaired, etc. (Act No. 53 of 2020), a system was set up for Telephone Relay Services. The system is intended to allocate grants for operations of Telephone Relay Services to its provider appointed by the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications (MICT), and these grants are funded by telephone providers.
In association with the enforcement of Telephone Relay Service System, Telephone Relay Service charge is billed to members using the services to which the system applies, starting from July 2021.
