You are reading this because you have determined you will be affected by Outbound Port 25 Blocking (OP25B) and so may need to confirm and make changes to your settings.

Please refer to the information below.

1. Using a non-ASAHI Net outgoing mail server

If using a non-ASAHI Net Outgoing mail server then sending mail through port 25 is not possible. Depending on the mail server you are using there will be a different way to deal with this; please refer below.

Using the outgoing mail server of another provider/hosting company

If available use the Submission port of that provider/hosting company; please contact them to see if they offer their submission port for the sending of outgoing mail. If a submission port is not available please consider 2. Using ASAHI Net's outgoing mail server and 3. Using a fixed IP address as explained below.

Using the outgoing mail server of your company/school

If your company/school is using an ASAHI Net Internet connection and their own outgoing mail server then please contact the administrator of that server about settings you need in order to send your email.

Using your own mail server

Please consider using the Submission port for your outgoing mail or consider 2. Using ASAHI Net's outgoing mail server and 3. Using a fixed IP address as explained below.

2. Using ASAHI Net's outgoing mail server

If because of OP25B you are not able to continue using the non-ASAHI Net Outgoing mail server you have been using to date, you can instead use ASAHI Net's Outgoing mail server by making appropriate changes to the settings of your email software.

>> Netscape 7.x (change the Outgoing mail server setting)
>> Thunderbird 1.5 (change the Outgoing mail server setting)
>> Mac Mail 10.4 (change the Outgoing mail server setting)

3. Using a fixed IP address

If using your own mail server or using a non-ASAHI Net Outgoing mail server and are not able to send email, you may want to consider using an ASAHI Net Fixed IP address option. Users of ASAHI Net Fixed IP addresses are not affected by OP25B.

4. Using your own mail server

If using your own mail server but are getting a dynamically assigned IP address for your mail server, you may find it possible to use ASAHI Net's relay server to relay mail from your own mail server.
