Please be aware of the Gumblar computer virus

When opening Web pages that have been infected with the Gumblar virus, it is possible for your Web browser to be redirected to a fraudulent Web page and for your computer to be infected with malicious software that can possibly result in the stealing of passwords for any Web sites you administer and the defacing of Web pages on those Web sites.

To prevent infection, please make sure your computer's anti-virus software is running and up-to-date. Also, as it has been reported that vulnerabilities in Adobe Reader and Flash Player can be exploited and lead to infection, an upgrade to the latest version of this software may help prevent infection.

Should your computer have been infected with the Gumblar virus, please disinfect it. Information about Gumblar and its removal is available on the Web. After disinfection please change the password for any ASAHI Net Web sites you may be administering, such as for your ASAHI Net Individual homepage if you have one.
