Unable To Send Email

I Please read this first

This guide will help you troubleshoot why you are unable to send email.

Please consider each of the points below in order.

Please consider each of the points below in order.

‚P Confirm there is an Internet connection

Sending of email is only possible if your computer is connected to the Internet. If you are unable to view Web pages or receive email it indicates your computer may not be connected to the Internet. Please try first to make an Internet connection. It is possible that service maintenance or outage is causing your computer to not be connected to the Internet, or for your Internet connection configuration to be incorrect.

‚Q Confirm the email settings are correct

If viewing of Web pages and receiving of email is possible but sending email is still not possible, please refer to the following pages to confirm that your email settings are correct.

‚R Is your email being affected by ASAHI Net's Port 25 Blocking?

If you are connected to an ASAHI Net Internet connection service and find it becomes impossible to send email, it may be that sending email is affected by the Outbound Port 25 Blocking put into affect by ASAHI Net.

To determine if the sending of email is being affected by Outbound Port 25 Blocking, please visit our Outbound Port 25 Blocking page.

‚S Is your email being affected by another company's Port 25 Blocking?

If you are connected to the Internet via another ISP, are using the email services of ASAHI Net and find it becomes impossible to send email, it may be that sending email is affected by the Outbound Port 25 Blocking of the other ISP. In such cases you may be able to send your email through Submission Port 587.

Please confirm with the other ISP if they are actually blocking Port 25.

‚T Other causes

The following causes may apply if you have found that points 1 to 4 are not responsible for your not being able to send email.

Mistake in the email address

Please confirm the email address is correct, for example the domain name part is correct, there is no confusion between the characters "." "-" "_" in the email address, etc. If there is an error in either the To address (to which you are attempting to send) or your own From address then an error may appear at the time you attempt to send your email.

Security software related issues

Security, anti-virus and firewall software installed on your PC can affect your ability to send and receive email.

After referring to the documentation or Help files supplied with the software you may want to attempt to temporarily disable it to see if sending of email becomes possible. If you continue to have problems and suspect it is due to software then please contact the maker of that software for assistance.

Damaged email

It is possible that the email you are attempting to send has become damaged (or corrupted) in some way causing your email software difficulties in dealing with it or causing the outgoing mail server problems. Please try moving the suspect email to your Drafts folder and then creating (composing) a new email.

The receiver's email service is having problems

If you are in general having no problems with sending email but find that sending to one email service is causing problems then it is possible for that service to be having problems (server maintenance or outage, for example).
