MegaBit Gear TE4121C Configuration.

I. Before making the configuration, ensure that...

1. Have you received notification of the opening date of this service?
You should have received notification by email, sent to the email address you supplied when completing your application for the ADSL service, of the date on which the ADSL service will be opened on your line. If you attempt this configuration before the ADSL service has been opened, you will not be able to connect to the ADSL service.

2. Have you received your ADSL connection ID?
To connect to the ADSL service, you need to use a special connection ID which will be sent to you by post. Your ASAHI Net User ID and password will not be used for connection to the ADSL service. The connection ID takes the form of "E-EA###X###@atson.net" - there is no password for connection to the ADSL service.

3. Prepare for connection.
There is no software to be installed as part of this configuration. Connect the TE4121C ADSL modem to your computer's LAN card with a length of "straight" Ethernet cable.

Type 1 line (ADSL and voice call capability on the same line)
Connect a length of modular cable (supplied with the ADSL modem) between your wall jack and the splitter (supplied with the ADSL modem). Connect another length of modular cable (supplied with the ADSL modem) between the splitter and the ADSL modem.

Type 2 line (ADSL-only line)
Connect a length of modular cable (supplied with the ADSL modem) between your wall jack and the ADSL modem.

More information about the setup can be found in the documentation supplied with the ADSL modem.

(e.g. E-EA###X###@atson.net). Please note that the connection ID is case-sensitive, so enter it exactly as it appears on the sheet you received.

6. Leave the Pasuwaado box empty.

7. Leave the Pasuwaado no ninshiki nyuryoku box empty.

8. Check all the four checkboxes under the Sekyuriti settei heading.

11. A window should appear to notify you that since you have changed the settings the ADSL modem will need to be restarted. Click the Saikidou button. If you don't see this window and instead have the NAT router setup page reappear with some Japanese writing in green at the top - don't worry - proceed to the next step.

Restart ADSL modem

12. The TE4121C ADSL modem will restart by itself, during which the lamps on the modem will flash. There is no need for you to do anything except wait for the modem to go through its self startup, at the end of which the POWER, ADSL, PPP, and LAN lamps on the ADSL modem should appear fully lit. Sometimes it is possible to close and re-open the Web browser at this point and find the ADSL Internet connection has been established - but sometimes a re-start of the computer is required - as stated below.
