


FLET'S Connection Tool Configuration

For connection to NTT's FLET'S ADSL, FLET'S ADSL Entry and B FLET'S services.
(Japanese-language MacOS7.6 through to MacOS9.2 only.)
Users of an English-language Mac OS should not use NTT's FLET'S Connection Tool software.

I. Before making the configuration, ensure that...

1. You are contracted with NTT to use their FLET'S service.

2. You are an ASAHI Net member

3. You are using the correct ASAHI Net Course.

4. You are prepared for connection.
If your computer's operating system is Japanese MacOS7.6 through to MacOS9.2, install NTT's FLET'S Connection Tool software following the instructions provided by NTT and then continue to read below about how to configure the installed software for connection. If you have an English-language Macintosh computer, you should not install NTT's FLET'S Connection Tool software.
On the day NTT open their service, connect up all equipment provided as instructed by NTT.
II. Configuration.

During Installation of FLET'S Connection Tool
Notes:
1. If you have an English-language Macintosh computer, you should not install NTT's FLET'S Connection Tool software.
2. Japanese-language names (menu options, button names, etc) have been written in an English-language equivalent below.
During installation of the FLET'S Connection Tool software, you will be prompted to enter
the connection User name and password, as shown below.
User Name: enter your ASAHI Net User ID followed by "@atson.net".
For example, if your ASAHI Net User ID is ab3c-defg, your User name would be ab3c-defg@atson.net.
Password: enter your ASAHI Net password.
After Installation of FLET'S Connection Tool
At the end of the installation process you will be prompted to restart your Macintosh. After
doing so, change the TCP/IP settings as follows.
From the Apple Menu open Control Panels and choose TCP/IP.
Connect via : select FLET'S Connection Tool.
Configure: select Using PPP Server.
IP Address: leave as will be supplied by server.
Subnet mask: leave as will be supplied by server.
Router address: leave as will be supplied by server.
Name server address: enter 202.224.32.1 and underneath enter 202.224.32.2
Search Domains: enter asahi-net.or.jp
From the File menu, select Close
Connecting with FLET'S Connection Tool
Double-click on the FLET'S Connection Tool icon you have on your desktop.
The FLET'S Connection Tool window will open as follows.
From Connect via select Ethernet.
User name : your ASAHI Net User ID@atson.net
Password: your ASAHI Net password
Click the Connect button.
A connection should be established between your computer and the Internet.
Open your Web browser, and start viewing Web pages.
