Mail Configuration for Apple MacOSX (10.7)
>> Setup About this pageThis page shows how to configure Mail for the first time. The Adjusting mail settings section shows how to confirm the settings you have made. The Junk mail section introduces the spam filter, and the Test settings and getting mail section shows how to send and receive email. Setup1. Go to your dock and click on the Mail icon. If you do not see it in your dock, you should be able to find it in the Applications folder in the hard drive.
2. The Welcome to Mail wizard will open. 3. In the Welcome to Mail window, enter the following settings:

4. Click Continue. 5. In the Incoming Mail Server window, enter the following settings:
6. Click Continue. 7. In the Incoming Mail Security window, make these settings.
8. Click Continue. 9. In the Outgoing Mail Server window, enter the following settings:
10. Click Continue. 11. In the Outgoing Mail Security window, make these settings.
12. Click Continue. 13. In the Account Summary window, confirm that all your settings are correct. If they are not, press the Go Back button and make corrections.
14. Click Create. 15. You are now returned to the Mac Mail window. Please continue with Adjusting mail settings as explained below.
Adjusting mail settings16. From the Mail menu, choose Preferences.
17. Click the Accounts button then click on the Account Information tab and check your settings.
18. Click on the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) drop down bar.
19. Choose Edit SMTP Server List.
20. In the window that appears confirm your settings (as listed below).
21. Click on the Advanced tab, and make sure your settings are as listed below.
22. Click OK. 23. Click on the Advanced tab. In the window that appears, make sure your settings are as listed below.
24. Click the Composing button. If prompted to Save Changes, click Save.
25. In the Composing: Message Format box, choose Plain Text. Other settings are arbitrary. Close the window.
26. If your Mac is connected to the Internet, you should be able to send and receive email. Junk mail settings27. Mail has an optional Junk Mail filter that may be helpful in controlling spam mail. From the Mail menu, choose Preferences. 28. Click on the Junk Mail icon.
29. For information on how to use Junk Mail, please open the Help menu and type in Junk Mail or contact Apple for further support.
Test settings and getting mail30. To test Mail's settings, you will want to send yourself an email. If you are connected to the Internet you can do this by clicking on the Compose new message button in the Inbox.
31. Enter the following settings.
32. Click the Send button. 33. Enter your ASAHI Net password if prompted, then click the OK button. 34. Your email will go out. To get your email, click the Get new messages in all accounts button in the Inbox button bar.
