ADSL Modem SV configuration.

I. Before making the configuration, ensure that...

1. You have entered into a FLET'S ADSL contract with NTT and have received their SV ADSL modem.

Received NTT West's SVIII modem? Some of the screens will differ slightly from the SV screens show below. Click here for the SVIII guide.

2. You are using the correct ASAHI Net Course.

Confirm that your telephone's ACR (LCR) function has been turned off.

(*1) For a Type 2 line, a splitter will not be used.

II. Configuration.

Step 1: Open the setup page

1. Open a Web browser (Internet Explorer, for example). You must not connect to the Internet: you are going to use the Web browser as the means to open up the configuration page of the ADSL Modem SV.

2. Enter http://192.168.1.1 in the Address box of the Web browser, then hit the Enter key on your keyboard.

3. At this point, a login window will appear. Enter user in lower case characters in both the Yuuzaamei (User Name) and Pasuwaado (Password) boxes, then click the OK button.

Step 2: Basic setup

4. See below on how to enter your information into Kihon settei (basic settings) screen, then push the Settei (configure) button.

Dousa Moudo (operation mode) : choose NAT Ruuta (NAT router).
Setsuzoku usaamei (connection user name) : enter your ASAHI Net User ID@atson.net
(eg: ab4t-ash@atson.net)

Setsuzoku Pasuwaado (connection password) : enter your ASAHI Net password
Setsuzoku Pasuwaado no kakunin nyuuryoku (re-enter connection password) : re-enter your ASAHI Net Password

ADSL gawa IP adoresu/nettomasuku (IP address on ADSL side): PPP ni yori shutoku

Shiyou suru denwaki (about your telephone set):
If using a telephone with number display functionality,
choose nannbaa deisupurei kinou ari (has number display)
If using a telephone without number display functionality,
choose nannbaa deisupurei kinou nashi (no number display)
Kanyuu denwa no kyacchihon keiyaku (contract for catch phone) :
If using a telephone with catch phone functionality,
choose ari (have)
If using a telephone without catch phone functionality,
choose nashi (have not)
Denwa kaisen daiyaru shubetsu (Type of telephone line).
Select according to the telephone line classification at your location.

DNS saaba adoresu (DNS server address) : Leave these fields empty
But, if after making the Internet connection you find problems accessing Web pages, you may want to try entering the following DNS numbers:
Primary DNS Number: 202.224.32.1
Secondary DNS Number: 202.224.32.2

Step 3: Restart

5. You are asked to restart the ASDL modem.
Click the Saikidou (restart) button, and the modem will restart automatically.

6. Once the ADSL Modem SV has restarted, another window will appear.

Click the Sai hyouji (re-display)button.

7. From the Hyouji (display) on the left-hand side, select the Kiki joutai/rogu (device status/log) option.

8. The Kiki joutai/rogu page will be displayed, showing that a PPPoE connection has been established.

9. The following lamps on the ADSL modem should be fully lit: Power, ADSL, PPP and LAN.

10. If you have connection to the Internet, you are now ready to Configure the VoIP Equipment so that you can make VoIP calls.
