How to Update Your Web Browser

This page provides information about how to update common Web browsers.

To use the Internet safely, it is necessary to regularly check for and update to the latest version of your Web browser.

We recommend that you update to the latest version as often as possible for the latest security updates.

Internet Explorer (Microsoft)

There are two ways to update Internet Explorer, as shown below.

1. Updating through Windows Update

Using Windows Update will update your Windows Operating System as well as Internet Explorer.

2. Downloading the latest Internet Explorer

You can download the latest version of Internet Explorer through Microsoft’s official support page.

Notes

* To install Internet Explorer 11 on a Windows 7 machine, Service Pack 1 or higher is required.

For those running Windows 8.1 and 10, Internet Explorer 11 is already installed, so no further installation is necessary.

* Windows 10 users also have access to Microsoft Edge as a default Web browser. Windows 8.0 does not support Internet Explorer 11.
