MNV ADSL modem configuration.

I. Before making the configuration, ensure that...

1.You have entered into a FLET'S ADSL or FLET'S ADSL Entry contract with NTT and have received their MNV ADSL modem.

2.You are using the correct ASAHI Net Course.

>> BB Entry Course.(NTT FLET'S ADSL Entry contract)

3.You are prepared for connection.

On the day NTT open their service, connect up all equipment provided as instructed by NTT.

(*1) For a Type 2 line, a splitter will not be used.

II. Configuration.

Step 1: Open the setup page

Open a Web browser (Internet Explorer, for example). You must not connect to the Internet yet: you are going to use the Web browser as the means to open up the configuration page of the MNV ADSL modem.

Enter http://192.168.1.1 in the address box of the Web broswer, then hit the Enter key on your keyboard.

Step2: Create the Administration password

The first time you go through this procedure you are requested to enter the password with which you want to gain access to the MNV modem setup page.

Enter the same password in both the Pasuwaado and Pasuwaadosainyuuryoku boxes.

Please make note of the password you choose, otherwise you won't be able to access the ADSL modem setup page again.

Click the Settei button.

Step 3: Complete the quick setup wizard

In the Uuzaamei box, enter your ASAHI Net User ID@atson.net.
E.g. ab4t-ash@atson.net.

Enter your ASAHI Net Password in the Pasuwaado box.

Click the Settei button.

A window will appear to notify you that the setup is taking place, and asking you to wait for up to 30 seconds. Please wait.

A window will appear to notify you that the setup has completed. Click the OK button.

III. Connect

Connecting to the ADSL service

The ADSL, PPP, LAN, and PWR lamps on the ADSL modem should now all be fully lit.

Close all open windows, and then restart your computer.

On restart, open a Web browser (Internet Explorer, for example) and make sure that you can view Web pages.

IV. Confirming settings.

How to confirm the settings that you have made

If you need to access the setup page of the MNV modem again, in order to confirm the settings you have made, this is how to do so.

Open a Web browser (Internet Explorer, for example).

Enter 192.168.1.1 in the address box of the Web browser, then hit the Enter key on your keyboard.

A Network Password Login box will appear.

In the User name box enter user. This should be entered in lower case.

In the Password box enter the Administration password you created when you first opened the setup window of the ADSL modem. This should be entered in lower case.

Click the OK button.

On the left-hand side of the window that appears, you will find a Kihon settei pull down menu. From this menu, select the Setsuzoku saki settei option.

In the window that appears, confirm the settings. It should appear as below, but of course your own ASAHI Net User name should be shown on your screen.

If you do need to make changes, make them, and then click the Settei button, followed by a click of the Touroku button. This will cause the changes to take effect and you will find the MNV modem goes through its setup.

On the left hand side, from the Denwa settei (telephone setting) section, choose Denwa shosai settei (detailed telephone settings) option.

Make sure that your screen appears as below. Of particular note are:
Nanba-dispurei:
If your phone equipment has number display functionality, click the Shiyo suru box.

Shi-gai kyouku ban:
Enter your telephone area code.

If you do need to make changes, make them, and then click the Settei button, followed by a click of the Touroku button. This will cause the changes to take effect and you will find the MNV modem goes through its setup.

On the left hand side, from the Joho (information) section, choose Genzai no joutai (current state) option.

In the second section, make sure the "Kaisen rink joutai" (line link status) is UP.

Finally, take a look at status of the lamps on the MNV ADSL modem now. The ADSL, PPP, LAN, and PWR lamps on the ADSL modem should now all be fully lit.

If you have connection to the Internet, you are now ready to Configure the VoIP Equipment so that you can make VoIP calls.
