Windows Vista PPPoE Configuration

Windows Vista PPPoE setup for Hikari T-Series connection.

I. Before making the configuration, ensure that...

1. You are an ASAHI Net member.

2. You are using the correct ASAHI Net Course.

3. You are prepared for connection.
PPPoE connection software in the Windows Vista operating system makes it possible for your computer to connect to the Hikari T-Series service. Do not install the Japanese PPPoE software that you received from KDDI, and do not install any other PPPoE software: you do not need other PPPoE software and their presence could cause connection problems.

On the day of KDDI opening their service, connect up all equipment provided as instructed by KDDI.

II. Configuration.

Start

1. Click the Start button, and then click Connect To.

2. Click the Set up a connection or network link.

Choose a connection option

3. Click the Connect to the Internet option. Click the Next button.

How do you want to connect?

4. Click the Broadband (PPPoE) option.

Type the information from your Internet service provider (ISP)

5. Enter your ASAHI Net User Name and password in the User name and Password boxes.

Enter ASAHI Net in the Connection name box.

Click the Connect button.

6. Your computer will attempt to establish a PPPoE connection to the Internet.

7. The You are connected to the Internet message will appear when the Internet connection has been established. Click the Close button. Open your browser, and start viewing Web pages.

8. Should you need to disconnect from the Internet, locate the connection icon in the Windows Vista taskbar and open it. Click the Connect or Disconnect option. Click the Disconnect button.
