Asahi Net : Configuration Guide : Email Software

Before you make settings, please confirm the following.

  • With Windows 7 and Windows 8 there is no pre-installed email software that you can use for your Asahi Net email, therefore you will need to download software like Windows Live Mail.
  • Please use this Account Maintenance page to register for our Expanded Services, before using SMTP authentication or APOP authentication. You only need to do this once.
  • When sending and receiving Asahi Net email it is possible to use POP over SSL/TLS (recommended), SMTP over SSL/TLS (recommended) or APOP. Therefore we recommend you use email software that has this encryption functionality.
