Email software
Before you make settings, please check the following.
- You have registered for our Expanded Services, before using SMTP authentication or APOP authentication. You only need to do this once.
- The email software you use has functionality for POP over SSL/TLS (recommended),
SMTP over SSL/TLS (recommended)
and/or APOP.

If you are using anti-virus software or firewall software, you may have actived it to check your email on sending. Sometimes this can cause SMTP authentication to fail. In this case, you may need to disable the setting in that software related to the sending of email.

If you are connected to an ASAHI Net Internet connection service you can use the old email settings for sending and receiving email; you don't need to register for our Expanded Services. However, by registering for our Expanded Services you allow compatible software to be set in a way that takes advantage of the security features of our email servers.
