Connecting with PPPoE or KDDI's Connection Tool software

Using Windows Vista, Windows XP or Mac OSX?

PPPoE is built into the Windows Vista, Windows XP and Mac OSX operating systems. Therefore there is no need to install KDDI's Japanese-language "Connection Tool" PPPoE software (see below). Please find setup assistance on the following English-language guides.

Using an older English operating system?

If using English-language Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows 98, MacOS9 then you will need to install PPPoE software. By the way, KDDI's Japanese-language "Connection Tool" software (supplied on their CD) may not work in an English OS - so please don't install it.

Using KDDI's Connection Tool software?

Members using KDDI's Japanese-language "Connection Tool" PPPoE software may find setup assistance on the following guides.

Connecting with a broadband router

Only PPPoE-capable broadband routers will be able to connect to the KDDI service. Should you have problems with configuring your broadband router, please refer to the guide provided with the broadband router, or contact the maker for assistance with making PPPoE settings.

• There is no English-language documentation provided by KDDI for this service.
• All communication with KDDI regarding your application for this service and during consultation with you about this service will be in Japanese.
• You will need to enter your postal address in Japanese characters when applying for the service.
