Read this before using the access point

1. When configuring your computer to connect to the access point, enter your Asahi Net User Name and Password in lower case characters. If you use upper-case characters, the connection will fail.

2. The access point cannot be used in conjunction with discount telephone services such as NTT's Telehodai service, etc.

3. The access point must be able to see your telephone number. The prefix "186" (before the 0120-253531 telephone number) forces your telephone number to be displayed.

4. It is possible that connection will not be possible for internal telephones where a "0" is required to be dialed before the access point number.

5. This access point can only be used via a fixed telephone line provided by NTT. The access point cannot be accessed via a cellular phone, PHS, public telephone, etc.

6. The access point can be used regardless of the telephone company to which a MyLine or MyLine Plus registration has been made.

7. If the MyLine prefix number "122" is used, connection will not be possible.

8. A special and important note for ISDN users using a terminal adapter.
Please ensure that the terminal adapter driver being used for ISDN connection is 64K synchronous. It is possible to make MP (MultilinkPPP) 128Kbps connection to the Prime Access Point if the terminal adapter driver is not set to 64K synchronous, however such connections will be charged as if two (2) lines are in use.

Example: member using the FLET'S ISDN Course M Plan

The M Plan offers a total of 5 hours dial-up time a month to Asahi Net's access points. Time connected in excess of 5 hours is charged at a rate of 5.25 yen/minute (5 yen base).

Scenario

  • Member makes only MP 128Kbps connections to the Prime Access Point.
  • Member makes a total of 4 hours MP 128Kbps connection in a month.
  • All connections are charged by Asahi Net at a rate of 16.80 yen/3 minutes (16 yen base).
  • Although the member makes only 4 hours of 128Kbps connections, these connections are treated as if two lines are in use, and therefore a total connection time of 8 hours is recorded in our system. As this 8 hours exceeds the 5 hours available with the M Plan, excess usage charges will be applied to the excess 3 hours at a rate of 5.25 yen/minute (5 yen base).

Please take great care if making MP connections, as Asahi Net will not refund charges made in such cases.

9. If staying at a hotel and wanting to use the hotel's telephone line to make the dial-up connection, before attempting a connection please check with the hotel as to what their charges will be for your dial-up to the 0120 Prime Access Point number.
