Remote Support Service
Remote Support Service is an NTT East service offering remote (from NTT's offices) support by
telephone and through the Internet for configuration and use of user's computers and peripheral
equipment. *1
*1 It is only available in Japanese to those whose computer has a Japanese-language operating system. There is no English-language documentation or software provided by NTT for this service.
How It Works

Scope of Equipment, Software and Services
1. Equipment
(1) Supported
- Equipment provided by NTT East including "Southern Cross PC", router, IP Set Top Box, TV
Phone (FLET'S Phone) and other equipment.
- Main computer unit, monitor, keyboard and mouse.
- Router, wireless LAN point, LAN card, LAN board, hub, "Location Free" (Sony device).
- IP Set Top Box.
- Network Media Player.
(2) Content
B FLET'S, computer, connection to TV or home network, initial settings, operations covered by the
supplied manual.
2. Software
(1) Supported
- Software provided by NTT East including FLET'S Connection Tool, M FLET'S Connection Tool,
etc.
- Operating system (Windows only).
- Web browser, email software.
- Media player.
- Anti-virus software.
- Document creation software.
(2) Content
Installation method, initial settings, basic operations.
3. Services
(1) Supported
- Services provided by NTT East including B FLET'S, Hikari Denwa, etc.
- Internet provider services (Internet and email).
- Other services available on the Internet (Blog, image transmission, on-line shopping, etc).
(2) Content
Basics of the service, application and contract agreement, use of the service.

Important! Read Before Applying for the Service

This service is offered by NTT East. This service is offered in accordance with NTT East's Remote Support Service Agreement (Japanese only).

Inquiries are only accepted from those who have applied for the service.

Those inquiring about the equipment, software and services will need to provide the relevant
product ID, license number and service contract number.

It is a requirement for the appropriate software drivers to be installed in the user's computer
and for appropriate software licences to have been appropriated.
Requirements for Remote Support Service and On-line PC Schools
- The software ("Diagnosis Recovery Tool") provided by NTT East to allow this service must be
installed or the installation of the software must be permitted by the user.

- When making initial settings the user must agree to the receipt of the warranty issued by NTT
East.

Digital warranties can only be issued for up to 5 computers.
* The digital warranty is used to identify the computer being supported at the time remote
support is given. It is not possible to support computers that are unable to accept the digital
warranty.
* Those users who have version 17 or earlier of NTT's "Easy setup CD" will need to download NTT's
Diagnosis Recovery Tool software from the following NTT East Web page:

Service Charges
Monthly Charge
Monthly charge : 525 yen (500 yen base)
There is no registration charge, contract charge or construction charge.
Campaign! No service charges for 2 months !
NTT East are currently running a campaign for applications taken for the Remote Support Service before 31st May 2012; NTT East's 525 yen monthly charge will not be charged for two months for those applicants who use the service before 30th November 2012.
Additional Charges
On-line PC School usage charge : 1,890 yen (1,800 yen base) per class
Door-to-door Service Charge Reduction
Those who are using the Remote Support Service will the NTT East service charge for one
Door-to-door service visit reduced by 2,000 yen.
Billing Method
Charges for the Remote Support Service will be billed by NTT East.
The charge will be listed on NTT's statement as the Japanese translation of Remote Support Service.
Precautions
Those who apply for this Remote Support Service and encounter difficulties with installing the
Diagnosis Recovery Tool software will be able to get support by telephone to resolve the problem, however NTT East will not visit the applicant's home unless the applicant applies for the
