Introduction

ASAHI Net offers you connection to the Internet overseas, via dial-up access points provided by our partner company NTTPC Communications, Inc. Access points are available in over 150 countries worldwide, in over 40,000 towns and cities.

Connection is available with any ASAHI Net Course, except for our Dial-up Course K Plans and Discount Mobile Course.

Charges

The following ASAHI Net surcharges will be billed for connections to the roaming provider's dial-up access points.

Connection methods

Connection is possible with InfoDesic dialer software.

InfoDesic dialer software is provided by NTTPC Communications, Inc. The dialer automatically makes the connection configuration.

The dialer cannot be used for connection to ASAHI Net dial-up access points in Japan.

Step 2

Download the InfoDesic dialer software.

>> Dialer for Windows 2000/XP/Vista (approx. 18MB).
>> Dialer for Mac OS 10.1.5, 10.2.0 to 10.2.8, 10.3.x (2.22MB).
>> Dialer for Mac OS 10.2.0 to 10.4.8 (2.7MB).

Step 3

Install the InfoDesic dialer software following the instructions in the Dialer Guide.

It is only possible to send email through ASAHI Net's outgoing mail server while connected to an overseas access point. It is also necessary to configure the email software for SMTP authentication. For information about how to configure email software, please refer to our Configuration Guide.
