


About IP-Phone-C
This IP-Phone service lets you make calls through the Internet instead of through
NTT's telephone network (your phone line) and so it is possible to make low cost
calls. It is even possible to use this service without a phone line, all you need is
an ASAHI Net ADSL or FTTH Internet connection - see the Who can use this
service section below.
To use the service you will need VoIP-capable equipment, such as a VoIP-capable ADSL
modem. You will connect a phone to the VoIP-capable equipment and use the phone to
make your calls - you do not sit in front of your computer with a headset when using
this IP-Phone service!
There is no charge for calls between users of the IP-Phone-C service and no charge for
calls to IP-Phone users of affiliated ISPs using NTT Communication's VoIP platform.
One 050 telephone number is allocated for each IP-Phone-C contract.
The IP-Phone-C service uses the VoIP infrastructure of NTT Communications.

Charges
Initial charge
There is no initial setup charge.
However, those members already using the ADSL ACCA (8M/12M) services or the ADSL
eAccess (8M/12M/24M) services will pay a charge for exchange of their ADSL modem with
a VoIP-capable ADSL modem.
Modem exchange handling (ADSL ACCA 10M/12M) :

Modem exchange handling (ADSL eAccess 1.5M/8M/12M/24M):
2,100 yen
Monthly charge
There is no IP-Phone-C monthly charge. We charge only for the IP-Phone-C calls you
make; please see the Call charges section below.
However, in accordance with the launch of the
Universal Service Fee in
February 2007, a Universal Service Fee charge will be billed. The current charges are:
From 1st January 2012: 5.25 yen (incl. tax)/month per phone number.
From 1st February 2011 to 31st December 2011: 7.35 yen (incl. tax)/month per phone number.

charge with this IP-Phone-C service. Those ISPs include @nifty, BIGLOBE, OCN, hi-ho,
So-net, TNC/Tokai, T-Com, SANNET, Dreamnet, etc.

*3. Calls to users of the following cell phone companies is
possible via IP-Phone-C: NTT DoCoMo, KDDI(au), Tsuka and Vodafone. Calls to satellite
phones, etc. are not possible from the IP-Phone-C service.
*4. The setup charge applies for every call made to a PHS
user. Calls to users of the following PHS companies is possible with IP-Phone-C: NTT
Docomo, WILLCOM and ASTEL.

Charges for calls made inside the scope of the IP-Phone-C service will be billed by
ASAHI Net. The charges will appear on your monthly statement lumped together with your
other ASAHI Net charges.
Charges for calls made outside the scope of the IP-Phone-C service will be billed by
the telephone line operator you are contracted with, e.g. NTT East, NTT West, etc.

7. Various rental ADSL modems were supplied to users of
the ADSL
eAccess Course (1.5M/8M/12M/24M).
Supply of rental IP-Phone TAs (Telephony Adapters) ended on 10th December 2003. Those
members
currently renting an IP-Phone TA may continue to use it.

The above equipment rental charges will be billed by ASAHI Net, and be lumped
together with other ASAHI Net charges. Other than these charges, charges for the ASAHI
Net Course/Plan you use, and other ASAHI Net services used will also be charged.
Only a router-type ADSL modem is supplied, a USB-type is not supplied.
Numbers Outside The Scope Of This Service
Calls made to services/numbers outside the scope of this IP-Phone-C service will be
placed
on the telephone line (PSTN) and therefore will be billed by your telephone carrier,
e.g. NTT
East/NTT West.
- Calls to 110, 119 etc..
- Calls to numbers starting with 0120, 0570, etc..
- Calls to satellite phones, etc. in Japan
- Calls to IP-Phone users of non-affiliated VoIP platforms
- Other numbers as yet defined

How To Apply
(1) Before making an application for the IP-Phone-C service, you are urged to read
the
following conditions and agreements.
(2) Preparation of VoIP equipment for IP-Phone-C service
If you use the B FLET'S service or FLET'S ADSL service, you'll need to prepare VoIP
equipment. If you don't have VoIP equipment, please contact NTT and apply for the
equpiment.

(3) Apply for the IP-Phone-C service
Members can apply for the IP-Phone-C service using the link below.
Depending on the Course in use it can take from 1 to 10 days from the first connection
to the connection service (ADSL or FTTH) before an IP-Phone-C application is
possible.

- ASAHI Net Administration ID (eg. A-BCDE12-F3) and password are required for
Business managers.
- ASAHI Net Business ID (eg. U667XXXXX) and password are required for Business
members.
(4) Receipt of a email confirming the application
ASAHI Net will send you an email when we receive your application. A confirmation
number
will be included.
(5) Receipt of email confirming completion of IP-Phone-C registration
ASAHI Net will send you an email when your IP-Phone-C data has been registered.
Please confirm your registered IP-Phone-C data (IP-Phone-C cofirmation number, VoIP
telephone
number, VoIP server name, etc.) via the Web address (URL) listed in the email. It
takes about 2
working days from application to receipt of this email.
(6) Arrival of VoIP equipment
If you are currently using Hikari T-Series Home course, Hikari T-Series Mansion
course, ADSL ACCA
course, ADSL eAccess course, Lite ADSL ACCA course, or Lite ADSL eAccess course and
apply for
exchange of the modem to VoIP capable ADSL modem or add VoIP equipment (broadband
router)/IP-Phone TA (telephony adapter), you will receive VoIP equipment through
courier
service 2 to 3 days after the receipt of the confirmation email.

How To Change/Cancel The Service
To change the IP-Phone service
It is impossible to use both IP-Phone-C and IP-Phone-F with the same ASAHI Net ID.
If you
would like to change to another IP-Phone service, you must cancel the IP-Phone
contract that
you currently have. After the cancellation process is completed, apply for new IP-
Phone
service.

- ASAHI Net User ID and password are required for Individual member.

Although it is possible to cancel your application as late as the day before
charges are
made, you will still be charged for telephone calls you have made using the service.

Returning the rental VoIP equipment
Here is a list of important points concerning the return of the rental VoIP
equipment.
- FLET'S ADSL and B FLET'S users
Please return NTT's rental VoIP equipment to NTT East or NTT West.
- ADSL ACCA, ADSL Tokai users
If you want to cancel the IP-Phone-C service but still continue to use the ADSL
service, there
is no need for you to return the VoIP-capable ADSL modem. Even after the IP-Phone-C
service has
been stopped, you will be able to use the same ADSL modem for Internet connection.
If you want to cancel the IP-Phone-C service and the ADSL service, please make a
request to
cancel the ADSL service: as part of the cancellation process you will be requested to
return
the VoIP-capable ADSL modem.
- ADSL eAccess users (using a Telephony Adapter)
When you cancel the IP-Phone-C service you are required to return the Telephony
Adapter that
you received. After processing of your cancellation request you will be sent a "return
kit"
which you will use to return the Telephony Adapter. Please return the equipment within
10 days
of receiving the "return kit."
When returning the Telephony Adapter, please include all parts of the original rental
kit - you
may be charged for items that you do not return.
- Hikari T-Series Home users
After you request cancellation of the IP-Phone-C service, you'll be notified of the
address to
return KDDI's broadband router. Please return it at your own expense, within 10 days
of the
IP-Phone-C cancellation date. Penalty charges will apply for non-return of the
broadband
router.
