Wireless LAN equipment allow computers in a house to connect to the au Hikari service wirelessly rather than using Ethernet cables connected between computers and the Home Gateway router.

Cautions

• This service is offered according to conditions in KDDI's On-site LAN Equipment Rental agreement.
  On-site LAN Equipment Rental Service Agreement (149KB) (Japanese)
• This is a best-effort service, therefore factors including line conditions and Internet congestion will cause the speed to be lower; these factors may slow down the Internet connection speeds significantly.
• In the month of application for the optional equipment there is no monthly charge billed for the optional equipment. However, the full monthly charge will be billed for the optional equipment in the month you cancel the optional equipment, even if that month is the month the application for the optional equipment is made.
• The minimum usage period for High-Speed PLC Modem and Coaxial Cable Modem service is 6 months. Should the service be cancelled within 6 months after you start using the service, the monthly charges for the total remaining months may be billed.
• It is possible to request cancellation of a service through KDDI's Self Page (in Japanese) or by contacting ASAHI Net's English Customer service.
• When cancelling a service, please follow the predetermined methods for the rental equipment return.
• The wireless LAN functionality of the BL190HW Home Gateway router is offered according to conditions in KDDI's agreement for On-site FTTH Service.

• Supported operating systems are as follows.
  
  • High-Speed Wireless LAN card,Wireless LAN card : Windows2000/XP, Windows Vista, Windows7
  • Wireless LAN card : Windows ME/2000/XP, Windows Vista, Windows7
  • High-Speed Wireless LAN adapter : No limit
• You will need to use the High-Speed Wireless LAN device together with the High-Speed Wireless LAN card supplied by KDDI. If you do not use these devices together it will not be possible to get high-speed connection.
  If changing a High-Speed Wireless LAN device, depending on the device in use the steps to make the change will differ. Please see the below for more details.
  
  • If using a BL170HV Home Gateway
    After you get the High-Speed LAN equipment, please cancel the rental Wireless LAN card for BL170HV and return it to KDDI.
    Please use the return slip KDDI will send you; KDDI will pay for the shipping fee.
  • If using a BL190HW Home Gateway
    After you get the High-Speed LAN equipment, please cancel the Wireless LAN function of the BL190HW. There is no need for you to return the BL190HW.
  • If using external wireless LAN equipment (excluding the BL170HV Home Gateway and BL190HW Home Gateway)
    After you get the High-Speed LAN equipment, please cancel the rental equipment supplied by Buffalo.
    

    * Please return the Wireless LAN equipment as a set if you are renting KDDI's base unit and LAN card as a set.

• Your computer's wireless LAN card slot needs to be compatible with the CardBus. There will be no ExpressCard-type wireless LAN card supplied by KDDI.

Members using a Home Gateway on an au Hikari Home Course, Mansion Course Mini-Giga Type and Mansion Course Giga Type
If using the Wireless LAN service only with the Wireless LAN function of the BL190HW, you cannot request cancellation of this option through KDDI's Self Page. Please contact ASAHI Net to request cancellation.
