au Hikari TV in brief
51 channels and around 7,000 videos are available with the au Hikari TV service. It is possible to use the au Hikari TV service from as little as 525 yen/month.
The channels and videos available with the au Hikari TV service can be enjoyed on your home television screen. After applying for the service, all you need to do is connect your TV to a Set Top Box (STB) and the STB to the au Hikari Home Gateway and you are ready to use the au Hikari TV service.

The monthly STB rental charge is not charged for the first 2 months, including the opening month. Those using an existing STB (au Box or ST1001 STB) and requesting a change to the ST1100R STB will not be charged for the first two months. Please visit

It is possible to apply for an additional STB, making a maximum of 2 STBs. In addition to the 840 yen registration charge the monthly rental charge for the additional STB will be charged. |

The music channel pack is a pack of the four most popular music channels. Those music channels are also included in the basic channel pack. Therefore it is not possible to apply for both the basic channel pack and the music channel pack at the same time. |

auBox STB
As of 31st March 2011, we are no longer taking applications for the auBox STB.
HD-STB 500GB internal HD
As of 30th September 2011, we are no longer taking applications for the HD-STB .
Penalty charges for non-return of the STB
- If you cancel your au Hikari TV application after receiving the STB, or you cancel your au Hikari TV contract, please promptly return the STB. Please wait for KDDI's instructions on how to return the STB before returning it. If you return the STB yourself you will be required to pay for the posting charges.
- If you cancel the au Hikari TV service and do not return the STB when requested by KDDI, the following penalty charges will apply, based on the time period the STB has been used.

Did you apply for the au Hikari TV service before 3rd November 2009?
Those members who applied for the au Hikari TV service before 3rd November 2009 may continue to use the same services they enjoy now. However the contract will be adjusted to the renting the STB (315 yen), the Video Mihoudai pack (665 yen), and the Basic channel pack (1,539 yen). If using optional services you may continue to use them. Any additions or changes to the au Hikari TV service can be made using the STB or on the KDDI au Hikari Self Page.
