Introduction

ASAHI Net's Fixed IP Address Option can be used with ASAHI Net's B FLET'S Course. The service is suitable for those who play on-line games, for those wanting to raise the level security of communication between offices using VPN, etc.

• Only one fixed IP address can be assigned to one connection User ID *
• The fixed IP address will be assigned arbitrarily from the list of IP addresses which ASAHI Net manages.
• The first time a connection is made to the FLET'S ADSL service an IP address will be assigned and that same IP address will be assigned on future connections.
• The reverse host name registered for reverse-pulling is "asahi- net.or.jp".

*B FLET'S Basic Course and B FLET'S Business Course already come with a fixed IP address assigned to the connection ID.
There is no need to make an application for the Fixed IP Address Option if using our B FLET'S Basic Course or B FLET'S Business Course.

*A connection User ID is either an Individual User ID (e.g. ab3c-defg), a Business service Utility ID (starts with a "U") or Business service Connection ID (starts with a "C").

• NTT charges also apply. NTT's B FLET'S monthly service charge and initial charges, etc. will be billed by NTT.
• The abovementioned charge will be billed by ASAHI Net.

Important notes

• The IP address assigned will be arbitrarily assigned by ASAHI Net. Members will not be able to change the assigned fixed IP address, however, there may be circumstances in which ASAHI Net may need to change it. In such cases, ASAHI Net will contact the member at least two weeks in advance.
• Should it be found that a member's IP address has been involved in the sending of spam, in an attack on another computer, or other prohibited behaviour, the member's fixed IP address option will be suspended without notice.
• ASAHI Net will not support members wishing to use the IP address to establish their own servers. Troubleshooting support will also not be provided.
• IP filtering is not provided as part of the service. Member should use their own equipment to do this.
• If the fixed IP address is not used for a long period of time, it may become available for others to use. If this happens, then the next time you connect, a new fixed IP address will be assigned.
• If there is a change to connection Course, e.g. to the B FLET'S Course, it will not be possible to transfer the fixed IP address to the new course. If a fixed IP address is required with the new course, it will be necessary to apply for the Fixed IP Option for that Course, e.g. the Fixed IP Address Option for the B FLET'S Course.

How to apply for/cancel the Fixed IP Address Option

Application and cancellation is possible via this Web page. When making the application, members will need to be connected to the B FLET'S service in one of the prefectures to which the service applies. In the application screen, they will be required to enter the connection ID that they wish to use with the B FLET'S service, and it is that connection ID which will be assigned the fixed IP address.

Individual Members

ASAHI Net User ID and password are required.

How to connect

Members who have applied for the Fixed IP Address option will need to connect to their B FLET'S service in order to be assigned a fixed IP address. Only when the special User name is used (prefix the connection ID with f.) will the member's computer be automatically assigned the same fixed IP address with each connection.
Connections made to NTT'S B FLET'S service without the special user name will be assigned a dynamic IP address.
