About BB Entry
BB Entry is ASAHI Net's service name for connections to NTT East's 1Mbps FLET'S ADSL Entry service. NTT East's service
offers maximum download speeds of up to 1Mbps and maximum upload speeds of up to 512Kbps (best effort).
It is always necessary to use an ISP with NTT East's FLET'S ADSL Entry service, and ASAHI Net allows its members FLET'S ADSL
Entry connection wherever NTT East offer it: the member will need to enter into a FLET'S ADSL Entry contract with NTT East.
ADSL is a "best-effort" service, therefore factors such as line conditions and Internet congestion may cause the speed to
lower: there is no guarantee for the actual speeds that will be achieved through use of this service.
For more information about NTT East's FLET'S ADSL service, please refer to NTT East's Web pages, as listed below.

Special Notes For English Speakers
Here is a list of points that should be considered by English speakers and/or people using computers with English-only
operating systems.
- Windows XP/Windows Vista/MacOSX: If you have an English Windows XP, Windows Vista or MacOSX computer,
you are in luck because the software needed (PPPoE) is already present.
Visit our Configuration Guide to find the settings for Windows
XP, Windows Vista and MacOSX PPPoE. Please do not install NTT's Japanese software from their CD.
- Routers: If NTT has supplied you with a VoIP router-type ADSL modem, you may configure it to make the
Internet connection instead of using PPPoE in your computer. Visit our Configuration Guide for how to configure the NTT VoIP router-type ADSL modem. The
documentation NTT supply with their ADSL modems is only available in Japanese.
- Older PC's: If you have an older English Windows or Mac computer, you may find it to be easier to
connect it to a PPPoE router (provided by NTT or your own). Finding and installing your own PPPoE software in your computer is
also an option, however, we can not support third party software, particularly if it is no longer being supported by their
makers; NOTE: please do not install NTT's Japanese software from their CD into your English computer. Visit our Configuration Guide for more information.
- There is no English-language documentation provided by NTT for this service.
- If making a dual NTT application for FLET'S ADSL (an application for ASAHI Net membership and NTT's FLET'S ADSL service)
NTT will call you about your application. NTT's phone call may be in Japanese if NTT do not have sufficient English speaking
staff available.
