Universal Service Fee

About the Universal Service Fee

From February 2007 a monthly charge called Universal Service Fee, came into effect as instructed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications established the Universal Service Fee on the recommendation of the Telecommunications Carriers Association (TCA) as a means to support the provision of telephone services to locations such as isolated mountainous areas and remote islands, as well as provide public telephones.

Asahi Net pays this fee via the telecom companies we are affiliated with who are members of the TCA. As a result the services listed below will be affected by the Universal Service Fee.
